Update PDF automatically after realeased

Creator

Hello,

I would like to know how can I automatically update my PDF after realeased my ItemRevision with NX Dataset.

In my 2D I have my signoff in the cartouche. when I realeased my Dataset, the signoff is writing on the cartouche.

But my PDF is not updated (I generated the first PDF with the file > export from NX).

I think it will be better to use the dispatcher. With the dispatcher could I generate PDF and upate it automatically ?

which translator should I use ?

Best regards,

Good afternoon, on your question "which translator to use", I suggest to see this topic:

Hi @Arthur3,

Thank you for your answer.

The dispatcher is installed on the server but not NX.

In the nxtocgmdirect translator they ask for the UGII folder and UGII_BASE_DIR.

My question is : do I need to copy paste the UGII and Ugmanager folder on the server to use the export_ugdwgimages.exe ?

Thank you in advance.

Best regard,

You must have NX installed for the Dispatcher Module to be able to launch and run your translator(s).

Hello @RandyEllsworth

Thank you for your reply.

Do I need a NX 's licence to use the translator?
Also, in the "nxtocgmdirect translator" file, could I index the UGII Folder to the client side?

Thank you in advance for your constant advice and assistance.

All authoring software must be installed on the Dispatcher Module for your translators to work. Normal licensing applies to all authoring software. You cannot reference authoring software located somewhere else. Note: you can have translator specific Dispatcher Modules, for instance, one dedicated to MS Office to PDF translations or NX translations, etc.

@RandyEllsworth,

Thanks again for your quick reply.

I'm not sure to anderstand.

I need a NX license to can use the NX translator through the dispatcher.

Is NX certified to be installed on windows server ?
In the case where all the licenses are used, the translation will do it as soon as a license will be released?

Is it possible to install the dispatcher module on an NX client side ?

Best regards,

Yes, you need an NX license to run NX translators using Dispatcher. NX is certified to run on the Dispatcher Module server for NX translations. If a license is not available when a translation is triggered then the translation will fail. You can install the Dispatcher Module on a workstation but a server is recommended (by Siemens).

 @RandyEllsworth

Thank you again for your quicke reply,

In my case, RunSchudler, RunModule and RunDispatcher Client are running on the TeamCenter Server (Windows server 2012 R2).

So if I understood well, i need to install NX in the same Server, I am right?

Another question, if their is not an available NX 's licence (because are all used by users), the RunSchuduler  should not reschedule the translation?

Best regards,

Yes, NX would go on the same server as the Dispatcher Module.

If the translation fails, it is up to you as the administrator to reschedule/resubmit it. This can cause a lot of trouble if you're performing translations in a workflow. I recommend you lock a license for NX to the Dispatcher Module server.
