Update TC10 - removing Dispatcher Services?

Hi,

I want to Update Teamcenter 10.1.2 to TC10.1.6.1. In the Administration Documentation I can read:

If your configuration includes Dispatcher Server, remove Dispatcher services
(scheduler, module, Dispatcher client) before installing patches.

Do they really mean "remove" the services or only stopping?

They really mean remove, they must be re-installed afterwards anyways to get them updated.

If you're on the Windows platform, you can remove a service using:

sc delete <service_name>

on a command line. Run this command to get the service's name for the above command:

sc query | more

The dispatcher services are best managed through the batch script shipping in the BIN folder of the dispatcher installation Smiley Wink

Re: Update TC10 - removing Dispatcher Services?

Yes, I have used this tool in the bin folder. It works fine, except one of the 3 services - the DispatcherClient has for some reason a different version name, than the other 2. I have to change the batch in one row, so that it points to the right name (and version) of the service. Then it works too.
