No workaround possible. You can validate if you have the feature "classification_access" and if all the licenses are consumed by running the lmtools application on the license server (should already be installed). If no licenses are shown or if you've consumed them all then you'll have to contact you're CSR. If licenses are shown and have not been consumed then contact GTAC (or your support partner) for help.

The classification_access license is deprecated, it is a named user license and Teamcenter is tracking its usage.

We have also had enough of these licenses, but still encountered the problem of exceeded license usage.

We have been told to change to classification_user licenses, which are concurrent user licenses and our problems are gone.

Thanks, Stefan for answer.
Yes, as I've known - it's not a bug, it's a new siemens's licensing policy. In TC10 licenses for many modules now is a named user license wich reserved for a month for user.

I dont understand why siemens did that, it's a big trouble for many companies with new license usage policy after upgrate to latest TC versions. And also no way to controlling license reservation period.

Some other licenses have been named user in the past too, but have not been tracked by Teamcenter, so they were treated like concurrent user licenses.

Now that Siemens enforces the named user license tracking, many customers struggle with the problem of getting stuck when migrating from one release to the other as you have already mentioned.

We were also hit by enforcing the named user license tracking when migrating from Tc 8.3 to 10.1, so we had to reduce the amount of users and switch from named users to workspace users.

This way a workspace that didn't need separate users, like machine operators or assembly workers, was merged into a single user and we found this to have some good side effects, since these users now easier shared the information when they work in shifts.

Modules not accessed very frequent or more or less essential to NX integration, for example, should not be named user licenses, but concurrent licenses.

There is no doubt that the base license to use Tc must be named users, but everything else is not practical.

Another example is the usage tracking of the resource manager license, which makes also no sense, since one has to maintain the NX tool library frequently and restricting the number of accesses per month is just stupid.

Hope we get a good balance between named and concurrent user licenses in the future that also makes sense.

If I understand right - "workspace user" - is a single TC user wich have, for examle, classification_access reserved license, and any user can work with classification by log on  with that workspace user credentials?
This method can be treated as simple workaround of new license policy, but in some cases it has deficiency - users will need to pass access rigths to objects, for example

Now we'll try to discuss with our CSR about ability to convert classification_acces feauture to ConcurrentUser license type, if it possible

In our case a workspace user is one user that is used by multiple users that work on the same workspace in a shift system.

For example, there are three machine operators operating the same machine in three separate shifts, so there is one user that is named like the machine and used by all users in their separate shifts.

This way we don't have three separate Tc users for one workspace, but one single Tc user for one workspace, since it is only possible to work for one person in this workspace anyways.
