[ Edited ]

Cleans cached data used by the OSGi framework and Eclipse run time. This is useful if you have new plug-ins you have added to your environment. It helps to troubleshoot startup errors after installation, update, or using a shared configuration.

Hi naveengm,

do you see any issue if we constantly use this parameter in our start links?

There shouldn't be any issue in using clean option everytime.

But time taken to launch the RAC UI will be slightly more when compared with launching the RAC without clean option

I disagree. Using the "-clean" option will remove any settings the user has made like "do not show this dialog again" or their column settings. The "-clean" option should be only be used occasionally, if at all. It's easier to just delete the folder instead of configuring the "-clean" option. At least you have more control over when the cache is deleted.
