teamcenter thick client is not launching

Valued Contributor
Valued Contributor

Environment:

Windows 10

Java 8 (171)

Teamcenter 10.1.6

When I tried to launch Teamcenter, it doesn't open and there's no error.  I thought the Java version was missing, but I have both 32-bit and 64-bit version and the JRE's environment variables are properly configured.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks!

Update:

I finally got an error message from the log file:

Check that the java path is correct:
In OTW it is in PORTAL_ROOT\otw\otw_init.bat.
In TEM it is in PORTAL_ROOT\install\tem_init.bat
Note: If you used TEM to install the rich client then run it again to update the java version (path).

The system env vars are only used during the initial install which are recorded in the files above.

Randy:

Thanks for your response.

I checked the path in tem_init.bat and it is correct.

I ended up solving it.  Our proprietary package requires the installation to be done as local admin (or at least with the equivalent authority).
