As you may have heard, Teamcenter is changing. You need to respond quickly to demands on your business, and Teamcenter can help. By releasing Teamcenter Service Packs, we are providing new solutions and updated capabilities faster than ever before.
Our latest Teamcenter Service Pack, Teamcenter 10.1.3, is a great example of what I mean. Let's walk through the Teamcenter portfolio to see what's new!
If you are focused on the START level of PLM, the design management area offers new capabilities that make managing your CAE processes much more streamlined. You can quickly create a complete CAE project structure, including packages, bill of material (BOM) structures and placeholder business objects, making the job of your CAE analysts easier.
Improvements in document management help your company quickly and more efficiently author technical publications that adhere to the S1000D international aerospace and defense specification. Finally, a new Product Configurator helps you more effectively plan for variability in your products by delivering a framework for managing all your variability in one place. (For more details, read the discussion on BOM Configuration Management.)
If you are EXTENDING your PLM implementation to related domains and processes, you can now take advantage of a new supplier collaboration web portal that extends PLM processes to your external suppliers. Your suppliers can much more easily adopt and connect with your Teamcenter data and processes through the new portal paradigm, which is designed for ease-of-use.
Through the portal’s common framework, you can include suppliers in multiple use cases, such as simplified design data exchange, more strategic direct materials sourcing, and supplier program management. Suppliers can be responsible for tasks and deliverables, even when they aren’t directly connected to your Teamcenter system.
Teamcenter can help TRANSFORM your business by taking PLM to the next level with new capabilities for sustainability and environmental compliance. Several new features help automate the material substance disclosure (MSD) process, streamlining the collection and management of material information for the portions of your product that come from suppliers. A new Integrated Material Management solution ensures that whenever material information is used in product development, it will be from a common source of material knowledge.
Within the Teamcenter PLATFORM, the new Data Share Manager helps overcome unreliable network connections by enabling high performance file uploads and downloads with auto retry and resume when interrupted. This is especially important for the design data exchange use case in the supplier collaboration solution.
For IT administrators, new deployment tools make it easier to manage your Teamcenter deployment. Guidance is now provided to help you choose a supported upgrade path. Production data import/export tools make it easy for you to quickly deploy test environments populated with real production data. Deploying Business Modeler Integrated Development Environment (BMIDE) templates across multiple systems can now be done through a command line utility that supports automation. Finally, Data Loss Protection (DLP) application integration enhances the security and safety of your data.
As you can see, a lot of great new things are delivered by this service pack. For more details, take a look at the Teamcenter 10.1.3 fact sheet. And if you missed it, check out Service Pack 10.1.2. Keep watching the Teamcenter blog for the very latest product news.
