Can we configure a BoM with alternative parts

Siemens Experimenter

I have a Assy for e.g Assy-01, which contains Part1/A, Part2/A, Part3/A.

There is amother part say Comp1/A which is defined as alternative part for Part3/A.

Part1/A & Part2/A has unit effectivity as 1-2 (for end item Assy-01).

While Part3/A has unit effectivity 1 (for end item Assy-01)

Comp1/A has unit effectivity 2 (for end item Assy-01)

Now when I load the BoM for unit 1, I should get Part1/A, Part2/A & Part3/A (which is working fine)

But when I load the BoM for unit 2, I should get Part1/A, Part2/A & Comp1/A (instead I see Part3/???).

Is there any solution to achieve this?

Note: I cannot have Comp1 as another revision of Part3 because they both are seperate component but doesnot change assembly as mounting point of both the component in assy remain same.

It should work exactly as you describe it should as long as you're using the right Revision Rule to configure the BOM. Can you give us a screen shot of the Revision Rule you're using?

I am able to find the solution by defining the substitute parts.
