Whenever I try and open a PDF file in Team Center I get an error message saying:
"Unable to open dtatset: No compatible tool is found."
This is usually in My Teamcenter
I am using Team Center 10.1.4.
I can open PDF files outside of Team Center with no problem, so maybe an alternative or tenporary solution could be to download the files to my desktop before attempting to open them.
How do I download them to my desktop without attempting to open the files?
Are the PDF files recognized as the correct data type?
What Adobe Reader release is installed?
Is the PDF MIME-type correctly registered in Windows?

I have Adobe Reader xl version 11.0.06 installed on my machine.
I am not sure what the "PDF MIME-type" is.
Yes the PDFs are clearly recognized inside TC as PDF files, the same as your screenshot.
If you look at this registry entry:
Does it show the Acrobat excecutable?
There's a very nice freeware utility called "FileTypesMan" for checking these things here: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/file_types_manager.html
Okay, unfortunatley I do not have to access to the registry or third party applications. I will have to leave that one up to IT. I was hoping to find a solution before going to them. It can take sometime before getting a response. Thanks anyway.
I had a similar issue the other day, Went and even meddled with the registry hoping that, it would be resolved.
Later, I uninstalled Adobe Reader 11.6 and installed 11.7 and it worked fine.
