Hi,

Is it possible that if I have three BMIDE Templates (P7AD, P7MC, P7EC), Can I merge them into one template (P7KT, new PREFIX)

All three BMIDE Templates are already deployed into production.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

It is possible, but cumbersome and there are many manual tasks.

See the BMIDE Best Practice Guide on how to remove a deployed template.

You will have to merge the template XML files manually into the newly created and deployed blank template.

The steps are similar to the following:

  1. create and deploy a new empty template
  2. merge all entries of the other templates into the new blank template by manually editing the XML files in a text editor
  3. cold deploy the now blank old templates and the merged new template
  4. remove the old blank templates according to the BMIDE guide

Make sure to first test the procedure in a test environment.

You will have to repeat the exact same steps in the production environment.

Best is to get help from a Siemens employee who has done this before.
