Difference between Baseline and Preliminary release

While testing some functionalities in TC, I came to know two work flow processes named Baseline and Preliminary.

Both workflow creates a instance of item revision with respective release status. Can anybody explain the difference between two?

Re: Difference between Baseline and Preliminary release

While how you precisely use these features can vary depending on your business case and configuration, in general think of a baseline as a checkpoint in the development of a product (i.e. something that is incomplete) that will not carry a release status for some time while a preliminary release would be more akin to a completed product that is starting or will soon start a proper release process.

Bottom line is it depends on your business process and how you want to configure products.

@elopategui: Yes, there is lot of customization depending on the business process. Now have some idea about it. Thank you so much for the explaintation! Smiley Happy
