I installed it but i got a final message saying that "Installation is complete but the vendor daemon failed to start due to an invalid server name present in license file". I checked the log file, it showing that invalid license file and also invalid license server.
Note: I installed it over VPN. It should be installed over VPN or not?
It does not matter that it does not start, it's important that it is installed and now you have lmutil.exe in the folder where SPLMLicenseServer was installed and now you can try using it to verify that you are given a license.
I executed the application(lmutil.exe) in the command prompt and got the following message:
"Error getting status: License server machine is down or not responding". In the command prompt, i entered the license server name provided by the client and exexuted the command on VPN. I am attaching the image for the same.
PLMLicenseServer was installed on VPN and i entered the following text in license file:
SERVER *Local Machine Name* ANY 28000
INCREMENT BLABLA ugslmd 1 SUPERSEDE
Please correct me if i am wrong.
As far as I understand you, you use a license server that is in your company and you connect to it via VPN.
In this case, the license server locally installed on your computer is not usable, except for the utility lmutil.exe.
Through this utility, you can make a request to the computer with the licenses that you have in the company and to which you connect through the VPN.
lmutil.exe lmstat -c port@ComputerNameWithLicense -a
The request must return to whom and when the licenses were issued. Just so you can make sure that your computer when you start Teamcenter was given a license by the license server, which is located in the VPN.
Then I do not quite understand what is now installed locally. Do you have a full set of components for Teamcenter? Database, License Server, Teamcenter Foundation, Volumes, tcdata, 2-Tier Rich Client?
At the moment it's hard for me to advise you. You can try to include more detailed logging:
In portal.bat 2-Tier Client or in% tcdata% tcprofilevars.bat
set TC_KEEP_SYSTEM_LOG = TRUE
set TC_Journalling = ON
set TC_Journal_Modules = ALL
set TC_Administration_Logging = ON
set TC_Security_Logging = ON
set TC_Application_Logging = ON
set TC_Installation_Logging = ON
After setting the variables, do not forget to restart the TAO.
