There is an IR in some versions of TC11 wher ethe Web-Tier does not work It was fixed in one of the patches and it seems broken again in TC11.3. So just check with GTAC if for your version as well there is an IR/PR for Web-Tier not working with TMC

The IP address vs host name is probably an indication of a DNS problem. You may be able to resolve this temporarily by modifying C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and adding the hostname and IP of your servers. You'll likely need to resolve this before continuing as the hostname is used throughout the config of TMC.

I spent some time configuring TMC yesterday and I have to retract my earlier statement about the ID. The ID for Server Manager should match TC_ROOT\install\configuration.xml > smgrPoolId value (in your case the value is PoolA). The ID for the Web Tier should match the name of the web application in INSWEB (in your case the value is webclient). In my case the web application has a space and special chars in the name "WebTier (tc.war)" which may be causing me additional issues. However the Web Tier needs more configuration ... a lot more.

During the TEM installation, Management Console LDAP Configurations, you chose "Use Embedded LDAP" with LDAP port 15389 (the regular port is 389 with 15 tacked on by Siemens to avoid conflicts). To use the embedded LDAP you need to install Apache Directory Studio from the Tc base media additional_applications\ApacheDirectoryStudio. Then set up a Server and a Connection remembering that the port should be 15389 (from TEM). The "Bind DN" is something like:
uid=admin,ou=Users,ou=Management,ou=JETI,dc=Teamcenter,dc=PLM,o=Siemens
(Note: you'll need to use the same in ldap.config)

Next you need to create an ldap.config and the placement of the file as well as other configuration steps depend on which web application server you are using to deploy tc.war. I use Apache Tomcat 8 but you are using WebLogic. The config steps for JAVA_OPTS (step 6) are here:
https://docs.plm.automation.siemens.com/tdoc/tc/11.2.3/help#uid:xid1256816:index_plm00102:id1683912:...

The TMC monitoring ports need to remain their default PoolA > 8088 and webclient > 8090. Do not confuse the ports with the web tier application itself (WebLogic 7001, JBoss\Tomcat 8080).

Even after configuring LDAP and the Web Tier, I could not get the TMC web tier working. I will need to talk with GTAC on Monday to determine the remaining issue(s) or bugs.

The configuration of TMC is difficult as the ADS (LDAP) setup is not documented at all. And the extra config of the existing web application server seems incomplete (since it doesn't work after configuration). It feels like the deprecation of the http://server:8082 method in favor of TMC (http://server:8083) is premature without having a robust installation for administrators in place. Sound like a good candidate for DC?

Upon further research I found Apache DS (LDAP) documentation both in the Tc11.2.3 System Administration Guide (PDF pg177-190) and a stand-alone MSWord (ApacheDS_steps.docx)...

There are a bunch more steps in here that I didn't do and likely will need to figure out ... I'm not a AD guy and understand very little of what they are showing in the doc. Another skillset.

Hi Randy,thanks for your detailed answer. The LDAP issue may be too hard for me right now,but the ID and the Port related questions to me much more clear to me,thanks again!!
