REVISE ALL ITEMS IN BOM?

I have a BOM structure I am viewing in Structure Manager.  Is there a way, OOTB,  I can increment every revision for the items in that BOM?

Re: REVISE ALL ITEMS IN BOM?

There is a workflow handler for this.

I am a novice in the workflow area.  Can you please walk me through high level steps?  e.g. DESIGN=Create X, assign handler.  EXECUTION=Select root/parent of bom assign workflow.

Re: REVISE ALL ITEMS IN BOM?

Not seeing that handler you have highlighted.  I am in Tc9.1.  Please advise

Re: REVISE ALL ITEMS IN BOM?

The handler was there in Tc 8.3 too, but it might have changed its name in Tc 10.1

You should be able to find it by searching the Tc work-flow handler documentation for "assembly component" as a phrase.

Re: REVISE ALL ITEMS IN BOM?

So I found 9.1 equivalent EPM-attach-assembly-components But I am not sure this will take my Root and all of its childrens and attachements and increment to next revision. Part-1 Rev 2 becomes Part-1 Rev 3

Re: REVISE ALL ITEMS IN BOM?

Not sure I understand what increments the revision.

EPM-attach-assembly-components
Attaches all the components of the target assembly as the targets of the same
workflow process. This handler is intended for use only with item revisions.

When a workflow process is initiated for an item revision, this handler derives the
components of the targeted item revision by traversing item revisions attached BOM.

So if I understand this right, something still needs to trigger the item revision, this action handler basically allows you to determine what componenets will be revisioned????

How do I revision?

Re: REVISE ALL ITEMS IN BOM?

Hi,

If you have TC Manufacturing licence, in Manufacturing Process Planner perspective you can revise all parts interactively at once.

Hope this helps

Re: REVISE ALL ITEMS IN BOM?

The handler just adds the component revisions to the targets, to revise the targets you need to add a different handler, but I don't know which, since I never needed it.

Re: REVISE ALL ITEMS IN BOM?

That would be too easy for me.  LOL
No such luck, but I will mention that as an option.
