Release Status: Snapshot

Valued Contributor

Hello, Thru trial and error learning I have a CAD object type that had the release status accidentally changed to a working snapshot(2X). Same with the open revision object type(4X). Is there a way to reverse this so they are not working snapshots?  (please see screenshots)

Thank you

Are you familiar with the release_man utility?
First, create an "unrelease" folder in Home.
Second, paste any objects that you want to unrelease into the folder.
Third, in a Tc command window: %TC_BIN%\release_man -u=infodba -p=infodba -g=dba -unrelease -status=Snapshot -folder=unrelease
Note: The utility will remove status named "Snapshot" from any objects in infodba's Home\unrelease folder. Log in as a different user (-u) to use a folder in their Home instead however the user must a member of the DBA group.

Hello Randy, No I am not familiar with the utility.

I've created the unrelease folder in infodba Home and pasted my parts in there but I'm not finding the TC command window.

Thanks much for your time

You'll need to pass this on to your Tc admin then. The command needs to be run from a Tc command window which is available in TC_ROOT\tc_menu on the server. Since you created the folder in infodba's Home then you'll need to run the utility as infodba (-u=infodba -p=infodba -g=dba).

That worked great Randy.

One question though, we had to copy all child objects (ugmaster, BOMview) to the unrelease folder. Does the release_man utility have an option to go deeper into the parent down to any child objects?

Thanks very much for your help

David

There is a -spec switch that can be used put I prefer better control and pasting the exact objects that I want the status removed from. You want to be exact and safe.
