Teamcenter visualization and Spaceball

Experimenter
Experimenter

Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you have faced the same problem.

For some reason I don't get my 3D-Connexion spaceball to work with the Teamcenter Viewer. It used to work, but I had to get Teamcenter reinstalled in my computer and after that it stopped working. I can't get it to work again.

Please let me know if you are familiar with this issue and know how to solve it.

Thanks.

What kind of 3Dconnexion SpaceBall?

Which TcVis version and edition, since it is only supported with professional and above with more recent versions?

Is the latest device driver installed?

TcVis uses the legacy 3D input device support, so the GTAC solution center or the 3Dconnexion forum might have some information about how to enable it for your TcVis release.

Hi,

I am not sure about the spaceball not working at all.  We have added system variables to config_vars.bat to have the spaceball react with user expectations similar to NX for Teamcenter Visualization.

set TCVIS_BASESENSOR_DISABLE_MOVE_PARTS=True

set TCVIS_BASESENSOR_CTRLKEY_MOVE_PARTS=True

I hope this helps.

Dave,

The config_vars.bat is a local customization that sets system variables prior starting Teamcenter.  This file resides on a server and runs as part of a front end we developed for clients.  These TCVIS settings can be placed where you set your variable that points to the help docs.
