Hi,

I tried everything and I would appreciate any help you could offer on this Issue, I cannot view PDFs in the viewer Tab, opening it with Acrobat functions normally.

I tried the following steps, and still couldn't solve the issue:

===========

Check for the following registry entry values:

Original settings:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pdf\(Default) DATA value = ImageView.Document.pdf
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pdf\Content Type DATA value = image/pdf

Updated to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pdf\(Default) DATA value = AcroExch.Document
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pdf\Content Type DATA value = application/pdf

Also check these settings for both PDF_Tool, and Adobe Acrobat in BMIDE:
1. In the Extensions view of your custom template in the Business Modeler IDE,
Open the 'Options-> Tool' folder and open the PDF_Tool tool.

2. In the PDF_Tool tool type, click the Tool Markup Info tab and ensure the
following check boxes are selected:
Download Required
Callback Enable
View Capable
Markup Capable
Digital Signature Capable
Note: By default, the PDF_Tool tool type launches Acrobat Reader by pointing fo
the acrord32.exe file in the Win Launch Command box. You can change the Win
Launch Command box value to launch full Acrobat instead, or you can create a
separate tool to launch full Acrobat.

3. Start the Reader to see if the plugin loads without error
From the menu Help -> About Third-Party Plug-Ins -> Teamcenter.

4. Disable security settings in the Reader
From the menu Edit -> Preferences -> Categories: Security (Enhanced) un-check
the Sandbox Protections "Enable Protected Mode at Startup"
Note: if this is not turned off the file from TC will not load

5. Restart the reader

Anybody has Idea what can I do?

Thx in Advance!

Thank you Richard, that was the first place where I looked.

I can open the PDFs with acrobat reader, but the problem is the read the PDF with the embedded viewer.

The OOTB preference defaultViewerConfig.VIEWERCONFIG contains a value for the PDF dataset
PDF.PDFViewer = PDF_Reference,PDF

The PDFViewer is a NEVA viewer (IE with an applet that enable viewing PDF and PPT in the browser). This only works currently with the 32 bit application. Microsoft currently doesn't provide an addin to enable PDF or PPT viewing with their 64 bit version of the IE Browser.

If you have TcVis then a workaround to view the PDF in the Viewer using the embedded Lifecycle Viewer is to edit the above preference to:
PDF.TCTwoDViewer = PDF_Reference,PDF

Without TcVis then you can try using the HTML viewer to open pdf in the embedded viewer.
PDF.HTMLViewer=PDF_Reference,PDF
Also, Latest version of acrobat reader 64 bit version has to be installed.

In my case:
Acrobat Reader DC 17.012.20098
Acrobat Reader 11.0.10 (if it is 11.0.04 also, it will not work)

To reset the default ".pdf" associations in the OS you can refer to this page:
https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/pdfviewer.html

Also, ensure your Tc preferences are set accordingly (view and markup):
defaultViewerConfig.VIEWERCONFIG

   Remove PDF.PDFViewer=PDF_Reference,PDF
   Add PDF.TCTwoDViewer=PDF_Reference,PDF (or PDF.HTMLViewer=PDF_Reference,PDF)
TC_DIS_2D_named_ref Add "PDF_Reference"
TC_markup_named_ref Add "PDF_Reference"
DMI_markup_relation_primary Add "PDF"
VMU_FileSearchOrder Add "PDF_Reference"
VMU_Datasets Add "PDF"

Restart the Teamcenter Rich Client.
