Enhanced boundary creation and gap closing

Siemens Experimenter Siemens Experimenter
Siemens Experimenter

Overview

This enhancement improves the selection method and graphics display of boundaries. The selection bar, including the selection filter and intent, is now used for boundary creation. Boundary elements are displayed as they are selected and gaps are closed when non-contiguous boundary segments are selected.

Useful information here. Thank you.

I have a question: Is there something similair to the chaining function within these dialogues?

The old CAM chaining has been replaced with standard NX selection intent.

After you set the boundary selection method in the boundary dialog to curves, on the selection bar you can use the curve rules for single, connected, tangent, face edges, etc. There is also a "More" arrow next to the curve rules that many users don't notice - this brings up additional chaining options.

The information above is useful.

Out of interest, what does a Permenant Boundary option do in this context?

Before v16 (v19 = NX 1) only permanent boundaries have been available, since you had no geometries that you could share like we have now.

This is therefore more or less to support old parts to allow selection of permanent boundaries.
