Question about creating new component by device in PSR and PSR disconnected

Question:

Dear API Support team,

I had question from the customer.

They would like to create new Component by device in PSR and PSR disconnected.

I tried to create sample by using “TxLocalComponentCreationData

but I cannot find method that define component by device.

I am able to create component(not part and resource).

Currently, must define type of new component by Create Engineering Library etc… after create component.

Could you please tell me if there is the method that define device (or other type) by API.

Answer:

Unfortunately there is no method in the .NET API that can define the component type/prototype.

We may consider adding such a method in one of the future releases.

Hello,

is there anything new to this topic in the meantime?

It would be very helpful to avoid using Create Engineering Libraries manually and solve this by API.

Bjoern

Hello Bjorn,

The new API entered V14.1

Create Components on eMServer platform
Starting from V14.1, creation of part and resource components is supported in the Tecnomatix .NET API. Use the new CreatePart and CreateResource methods of TxPhysicalRoot class to create a part or a resource component. TxPartCreationData and TxResourceCreationData classes expose PmType property that allows specifying the prototype type for the component. After the creation, the component is opened for modeling.
This functionality is supported for Process Simulate on eMServer and Process Simulate Standalone (eMServer-based).

Best Regards,
