HI,

For ABB RCS it would be good to know which setup type you used.

1. server, client, license on the same machine.

2. server, client on your client machine and license on a server.

3. server and client on different machines.

Inside your Abb RCS common folder you have two batch files.

You need to edit both files.

First run the lmgrd batch. => one or two dos windows come up.

Afterwards run rcsserv batch. => another dos window comes up and you will see a IN/OUT in one of the dos windows.

Now you can validate RCS for your robot.

Best regards

Hi,

    Thanks for your replay.
My setup type is  server, client, license on the same machine.

I already run both lmgrd batch and rcsserv batch.

     but still its showing error.

Also when am traying to run lmgrd licens through cmd manually its running.

but when am running through LMTools server is not taking license file and server not starting.

one more thing is when am traying to start ABB Server through services its not strarting its   showing

the Error 1053. check in attached file.

Help up us for further procedure.

Hi,

Please use the two batch files to run Abb RCS not lmtools or any service.

This makes it easier to find out what the problem is.

When you start the lmgrd batch first, do you get two cmd shell windows?

Afterwards, when you start the rcsserv batch, do get a third cmd shell window?

In addition can you see an license "IN" "OUT" in one of the opened windows?

Ensure the host ID (Mac Adresse) in your license file is correct.

Put the license file e.g. into your ABB common folder (server module)

If you still have the problem.

Please get in contact with GTAC support

Best regards

Patrick

Re: ABB RCS Error

This is how we start our ABB RCS setup.
License and RCS process on the same server and clients linking from Robcad/PS clients to the server.

Server side:
start the lmgrd through a bat-file.
        Content:
               @echo off
               cd C:\Program Files\ABB Robotics\RRS5.0\rcsabb_rw5_0_6_0.common
               lmgrd -c "C:\Program Files\ABB Robotics\RRS5.0\license\license_xxxxxxxxx.dat" -app -z -l abb.log

Then we start the rcs-process through a bat-file.
        Content:
               @echo off
               cd C:\Program Files\ABB Robotics\RRS5.0\rcsabb_rw5_0_6_0.common
               rcsserv.exe

Client side:
e.g. : C:\Program Files\Tecnomatix\eMPower\rrs_bin\rcs_abb\rcsabb_rw[???????].irc5\rcsaddr.txt should point to the server.

Has been working for years on both Robcad and PS

Then there is an other thing to check. Is it only this model that does not work or does no model at all work? E.g. try an older IRB6640 model. We have found that some of the models needed to be simulated with an other RW version.
