Cannot open Navigation Tree/Problems creating a curve

[ Edited ]

Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on a continuous arc welding simulation and trying to create a new 'continuous manufacturing feature'. The manual says:

"In the Navigation Tree, right click a Mfg Feature Library and select New. From the New window , select Continuous Manufacturing Feature.

The Problem is, that I cannot open the Navigation Tree via View --> Open with --> Navigation Tree, whatever object I selected.

Maybe there is another way to create curves?

Thank you,

Andy

PS: I'm using Process Simulate Standalone 11.1

Hi,

as far as I know, the Navigation tree is used on eMServer. However, you can create ARC Weld feature simply in the Standalone version too.

Do you have already prepared mfgs or at least curves?

Typical workflow is:

  1. Create / import curves
  2. Create MFGs (Create Continuous Mfgs from Curves)
  3. Create Cont Feature Operation
  4. Project Arc Seam Operation

thanks for your help!

Yeh, that's my actual questions: How do I create curves or seams? I cannot find the command in Process simulate.

Re: Cannot open Navigation Tree/Problems creating a curve

Hi,

you can create curves either by modeling:

  1. Modeling – Create Part/Resource – New Part
  2. Modeling – Create 2D – Polyline/Curve/Circle/Arc
  3. Create Continuous Mfgs from Curves

More typical is that u have part/assembly that should be welded:

  1. Select the part
  2. Modeling – Set Modeling Scope
  3. Then you can create your curves at right place – I often use tool Curve On Borders
  4. Create Continuous Mfgs from Curves
  5. End Modeling Scope

Note: Since version 12 you can use very handy tool Continuous Process Generator. It is much easier.
