Is there a parameter for custom XML to assign the gun automatically to a weld path during an upload?
In the Kuka robot controller I have defined all spot welding guns with their indivdual gun number. Here the resource was selected for the definition of the gun.
Now I upload a robot path into PS (real robot path from backup), but in the properties of the opertion (robot path) no gun is selected. Now it is required to manually select the gun to have a working spot welding gun for this path. The information of gun number is included in the robot path.

"Active Gun" dynamic parameter is used for that.
You should set a number here and make sure you properly defined the mapping between gun number and device in Robot Setup / Gun Definitions.
we have testet the "active gun" command in custom xml.
in the column active gun of the path editor a gun is set but is not the correct one.
location with custom process type i can upload with the "AdditionalDynamicParam".
all other locations of the path (without process type) have the wrong gun.

the weld locations have the correct position but ps writes the following upload error.
after the upload i must reteach all weld points.
Indeed "Active Gun" does work only for customized locations.
We have in plans to gather all 'active guns" found on customized locations and set it automatically on the parent operation during upload.
