How does Robcad Integration module function and its known limitations

Hello,

Im looking to understand how the robcad integration module that allows a study to be created in Process Simulate and further taken to Robcad for further activities like rechability studies, spot allocation and once the study is complete the same can be sent back to process simulate function. Few of the questions include:

1. Known limitations

2. Can this be used for generate OLP

3. How easy is this process.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience on the same.

Thanks,

Rohit

Re: How does Robcad Integration module function and its known limitations

Hi Rohit,

that workflow is supported, but I don't really see the benefit you will get from applying it. All activities you are listing are fully supported in Process Simulate even with better tools.

The limitation in this workflow is that you must have only components in Robcad format (.co) and you must start all the work in Robcad from the cell that was exported from Process Simulate.

Best regards

Bernard

Hi Bernard,

Thanks for the reply.

The reason i was looking at this workflow was to allow usage of the existing robcad licenses as well for the Process Simulate Projects.

Im assuming in this scenario using robcad intergration would work rightly.

Thanks,

Rohit

Re: How does Robcad Integration module function and its known limitations

Hi Rohit,
another way would be migrating all Robcad licenses to PS and purchase the Robcad-access-module.
That enables Robcad to work on your PS licenses, if needed for specific projects.
E.g. you have 10 PS licenses you can then start 7 Process Simulates and 3 Robcads.

Mixing Robcad and PS portions in a single project is possible, but it limits the potential of PS (no modelling here then) and makes the handling of libraries and studies complicated.
I believe you would spend more than your saved migration costs on extra work...

Thanks for the suggestions. Migration to Process simulate with RObcad Access is what we suggested finally.

Re: How does Robcad Integration module function and its known limitations

Hello GuidoDamm,

In your reply you had mentioned about convering the Robcad cells into PS. Is there an automated way to do this. Please advice.

Thanks,
