I'm working on a project which involves simulating and optimizing of existing and working robotic cell. But there is a problem, there isn't cell layout and any other documentation from which i can get positions or distances between devices in this cell.
Is there any method to map this cell in order to get reliable measures? Do you have any idea how to do this using only basic tools?

Several companies offer such scan and the data preparation as a service.
The latest versions of PS can load such point-cloud as a .pod-file.
You can use these points for measuring and even collision-checks.
Process Simulate/RobotExpert contains a Calibration toolkit. You will have to add it to your customization.
