PSZ file size

Hello everybody!

I have worked on PS Disconnected and I realized that independent of what is loaded into the cell the size of the file PSZ can vary a lot.

What will determine the size of the file PSZ?

Is there a possibility to make the file PSZ "clean" in order to make the size of the file smaller?

I have cells with 2 robots and 2 devices with 1GB size and cells with 6 robots and lots of tools with 20 MB size.

I cannot understand what cause the size of the PSZ file...

Re: PSZ file size

Hi

Check the Tunecell directory before you save the PSZ. If there is a crash while modelling in the study it does not delete the temp file, it does however save this file to the PSZ.

Cheers

Re: PSZ file size

Hi,

the psz file will increase its size when it includes elements in modeling mode: a local copy of the modified element is kept together with the psz. once this element is saved, it will no longer be kept in the psz.

another paramter which can influence the size is the number of locations in the study.

best regards

bernard

Re: PSZ file size

Also the images of snap-shots and document attachments are in there.

You may do the following (which is no official workflow ;-)

  • make sure you have no component in modelling-scope anymore (! doublecheck this)
  • save the psz under new name or make a backup
  • open the .psz in a zip-tool, like 7-zip
  • if there are .cojt-folders under EngData, delete them
  • if the psz now opens without error, they really were just phantoms
