We are trying to connect the PS with PLC with help of OPC. The OPC shows that the communication is valid and the client also added into the OPC.
In line simulation mode, we trying to simulate the process the error message was pop up.
Does anyone know what is the problem ?
Firstly - Process Simulate only supported OPC DA connections using Signal Address for communication with the Siemens Simatic Net OPC server, so you need to change the "Map Signals By" settings to Signal Name.
Secondly - the error message states that the signal is not found in the OPC server.
Process Simulate is looking for a signal called "smartfactorysmartfactoryI5.0,1" in your OPC server and fails to find it.
You use "smartfactory" as an Item Header, I'm not sure why PS is writing it twice, perhaps that's to do with trying to use addresses here and perhaps you also have "smartfactory" in the signal name?
In any case - this is what the message is about.
Change your setting as explained above and try again. The correct Item Header can be derived by browsing the server (from the PS OPC client) and double clicking the tag (will auto-populate the Item Header field), and then the tag name must be aligned (renamed) to the tag name in the server. That should work.
As per your instruction we are tried to connect OPC DA using KEPServer EX6 and
changed the "Map Signals By" settings to Signal Name. Now the KEPServer EX6 shows the external connection is valid and 2 clients are connected ( PLC & PS ). Still we are facing data read and write issues.
Thanks and Regards,
Your pictures show you are using Server Address and not Signal Name.
So does your error message (stating I5.0).
Address based communication does not work in OPC except with the Siemens Simatic Net OPC DA server as noted in the PS help.
Actually - this is somehing we are currently looking into - but for now you must set it to Signal Name and make sure the Signal Names in PS match you names in the OPC server (in your case "in" & "out").
