EQUALIZE_FOR_ANALYSIS function in LMS Test.Lab Time Signal calculator

I have a analog binaural head.  Do I need to use this EQUALIZE_FOR_ANALYSIS function in LMS Test.Lab Time Signal calculator?

If so, why?

Re: EQUALIZE_FOR_ANALYSIS function in LMS Test.Lab Time Signal calculator

If the data was recorded with the head and torso effects then, yes, those effects should be removed via the Equalize_For_Analysis command.

The reason is that the sound quality metrics are developed with a microphone in mind and the head and torso would alter those results.

If your data was measured with a head and torso that supports the "Field Setting" then those measurements use the head and torso FRF to correct the data as if a single mic was used instead.

More information in  the attached PDF which has some slides from our "Sound Metrics Unleashed" seminar which you can see live during our Quadfecta 2017 event next week in Troy, MI USA.
