Closing the Big Data Loop

by Siemens Enthusiast Siemens Enthusiast on ‎07-18-2016 03:08 PM

Feedback.  It’s the lifeblood of optimization, making sure things have been done right, and quickly fixing what isn’t right.  Leading companies make huge investments to understand how their products are working in the field and how they are being used.  This gives them the feedback they need to optimize field performance and to make the next generation of products even better.  The faster they can get feedback and the more feedback they can get, the better.

Be careful what you ask for.

With Industry 4.0 and the digitalization of plants, products, and even users themselves, we can now drown ourselves in data lakes. The adage of more data, quicker still rings true if you can process that performance data and tie it back to the intended usage.  If you can’t use that data to take actions that enable desired outcomes, you’re just spending a lot of money to fill massive data stores and perform data science experiments.

Siemens is solving that problem by using vast product knowledge to deliver the ability to use those lakes of data their fullest extent. With the integration of Omneo product performance analytics and Teamcenter, customers are able to focus on their core business rather than creating and integrating the platforms. This provides customers with a closed loop that allows them to get the most out of their data by:

  1. Using the full breadth of test and field data for a richer context
  2. Quickly identifying trends and issues using automated analytics
  3. Tying trends and issues back to the product definition with actionable insights
