In part one of the six part video series: The History of Big Data Analytics, we explore how the speed at which we analyze big data has evolved over time.


The history of big data began in 1880 with the United States census. It took over 7 years to compile these statistics alone, and the predicted time for the 1890 census was over 13 years. To solve this problem, scientist and engineer Herman Hollerith built a machine to analyze census data in a much faster way.
